The team won nine medals in total, to include a clean sweep of bronze, silver and gold medals in the Women's Open Bicycle
category. The day-long cycling event consisted of seven categories in which wounded, ill or injured Soldiers, Marines,
Airmen, Sailors and soldiers of the British Armed Forces competed for the gold. Throughout the week of the games, more
than 260 wounded, ill or injured service members from across the Department of Defense and British Armed Forces will compete
in track and field, sitting volleyball, shooting, swimming, archery and wheelchair basketball events. The 2013 Warrior
Games is intended to help service members advance their recovery by helping them overcome challenges associated with their

"Stay Strong, Live Long & Commit to be Fit!" is the theme for Activity Awareness Month. Regular exercise and physical activity can lead to long-term health benefits, reduce ones risk for many chronic diseases—such as depression, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, stroke and some forms of cancer. This year the Army's theme is "Breaking the Silence." The Army is determined to decrease the stigma and get help to those who need it, by promoting dialogue between leaders, Soldiers, Families, Civilians and the community.
The purpose of Sleep Awareness Month is to increase Soldiers' and beneficiaries' overall awareness of the importance of sleep and good sleep habits, and to enhance their knowledge regarding how sleep, as one of the three components of the Performance Triad (Activity, Nutrition and Sleep) is a critical element toward the Army's system for health. National Women's Health Month is an opportunity to educate and increase awareness throughout the Army about the wide range of Women's Health programs and initiatives aimed at improving the Lifespace of female Soldiers, spouses and other beneficiaries.
