AC to RC PROFIS Initiated (2000)

About AMEDD - AMEDD Innovations Since Desert Storm

Under the Active Component to Reserve Component Professional Officer Filler System, or PROFIS, active-duty Soldiers are assigned to Reserve units to relieve personnel shortages on a temporary basis. The goal is to increase Reserve unit readiness.

In fiscal 2000, the year this initiative began, a significant majority of Reserve units reported increased mission capability or readiness ratings. This has continued in the four fiscal years the initiative has been in effect.

When necessary, contract providers fulfill the duties of active-duty medical specialists who participate in this initiative.
