DOD/VA Clinical Practice Guideline (2002)

About AMEDD - AMEDD Innovations Since Desert Storm

The DOD and the Department of Veterans Affairs collaborated in developing a clinical practice guideline for identification and management of their patients with deployment-related health concerns.

Use of the guideline will improve continuity of care and health risk communication for service members and their beneficiaries who request treatment for a wide variety of medical concerns that may arise after and may be related to military deployments.  The DOD Deployment Health Clinical Center, located at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, provides consultative support and technical assistance for implementation and use of the guideline.
